The Venue for the 2024 Final – St. Peter’s Church

The 2024 competition will be held at St. Peter’s Church, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, TN40 2HE

St. Peter’s Church was the home church of John Kerr. As well as being a renowned tenor, he was also interested in mechanical instruments, including a barrel organ restored by John which now lives in St. Peter’s Church.

The competition final will take place in the church using their fine grand piano.

John Kerr Award History: The First Venue – Finchcocks Musical Museum

The final of the first competition in 2006 was held at Finchcocks Musical Museum, using Richard Burnett’s unique collection of early keyboard instruments.

Here there was a personal connection, as John Kerr was a regular performer at the museum Open Days, where he delighted audiences with songs from the English repertoire.
